All You Need To Know About Fidget Spinners

A fidget spinner of commonly referred to as hand spinner is a toy that has a bearing in the center designed to spin. The toy is either made from metal or plastic. Although similar devices existed as early as 1993, this toy became popular in 2017. Let us dig deep and see what this tri-spinner is all about.
History 
Catherine Hettinger was credited by some news stores as the inventor of the hand spinners. She is a chemical engineer by training. She filed a patent application for “spinning toy” in 1993 and was issued. However, she allowed the patent to lapse in 2005 when she could not find commercial partners to push the product that was starting to become popular among children. However, an article written in May 2017 showed that she was not the inventor of the toy and she agreed.
Scott McCoskery appeared in an interview on May 4, 2017 and described how he came up with the idea of a device that spins in 2014. He says that he responded to requests from an online community to create something he called Torqbar.
The hand spinner craze only lasted from December 2016 to around June 2017. However, the popularity of the fidget toy increased in 2017 with children and teenagers alike using in school.
Development 
A basic fidget consists of two-of three-pronged design that has a
hand spinner bearing at the center. They are created from various materials like stainless steel, brass, titanium, aluminium, plastic and copper. The bearings are made of metal, ceramic or other hybrids like ceramic balls. 
What makes this tri-spinner spin faster is its two or more weights on the outside. This also keeps the toy in balance. The bearings also vary to give the toy difference in the spin time, the noise and the vibration. Thanks to the popularity the toy has received in the past few months, creators are now developing more designs and colors.
